The new Fusion Authority Quarterly Update is out

It seems like not many people are talking about the new Fusion Authority Quarterly Update. It has been out for about 3 weeks, I think, and it seems that there is very little buzz about it. So I thought I would generate some.

This is a little self-serving, as I have two articles in the newest version, but I don't mind :) My two articles are in a new "Let's Talk Security" column. They are "Application Security Primer" and "SQL Injection: A Persistent Threat". I was very excited to be asked to start writing for FAQU and I hope to be able to contribute more.

In addition to my two articles, there is some amazing content from authors like Todd Sharp, Ray Camden, Terry Ryan, Mark Kruger, Mike Brunt, Mike Henke, Charlie Arehart, S. Isaac Dealey, Pete Ruckelshaus, Adrian J. Moreno and Mark Phillips. And I am especially looking forward to reading Dave Konopka's "SOA for the rest of us"

To help bring attention to the new Quarterly Update and to generate some buzz, I am going to have a little giveaway. I like to do giveaways once in a while. It is fun. Judith and Michael at House of Fusion have graciously offered two 1-year subscriptions of the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update for me to giveaway.

So on Friday of this week (only three days from now) I am going to give away two 1-year subscriptions to the Fusion Authority Quarterly Update.

Here is how it is going to work. I am going to give away two subscriptions. One will be given away randomly to anyone who comments on this post to say they are interested. The other one will be given away to a person I choose based on the comment they leave. I will not give any criteria or guidelines for the comment, I will just choose the one that I like best. It could be creative or technical, related to ColdFusion or not, it can be just about anything you like. I reserve the right to delete anything offensive.

So, leave a comment and say that you are interested or leave one in hopes that I will choose yours as the one I like best.

All comments will be entered in the random selection.

Remember to use a valid email if you want to be included in the drawing. That is how I will reach you.

Disclamer: My contest, my rules, my final decisions. Deal with it ;) This giveaway is mine not Fusion Authority's or The House of Fusion's. They provided the prizes, but I set the rules. They should not be held responsible if I screw this up and make you angry.

I think there is not much buzz because it has become an online-only magazine. There is already tons of ColdFusion content online. FAQU stood out because they were a print magazine. Not any longer.

I vote that David Gault and Fuzie should get the subscriptions. Not that my vote matters in this competition since I clearly am not running it. But David's was pretty funny and well, Fuzie needs the knowledge. But don't tell her I said that. Oh, wait. She might read it here. Well. OK. She doesn't need the knowledge but it is an awesome magazine and I think she should revel in it's awesomeness.

By the way, don't randomly pick me. I think I have a subscription already ...

A farmer was traveling home from the State Fair in his pickup with his prize winning pig riding up front with him. He comes across two friends walking along the road and offers them a ride as it is has started to rain. The farmer tells his friends to open the tailgate and hop in the bed of the truck. As they are driving, all of a sudden it starts raining so hard the farmer can't see the road and drives into a quickly rising creek. The pickup is quickly sinking, so the farmer grabs his pig and get out the window and swims to safety(with the pig). Unfortunately his two friends drowned in the creek because they couldn't open the tailgate to get out of the pickup.

I love Fusion Authority + Flex Authority; I think its nice to be able to gain advice from experts in the community. Also, I love talking about security, and I am interested to see what you've written. Are there different topics besides the topics already written on your blog? Anyways, you should send the subscription to me, because I'm really interested. :)
