It's almost time for cf.Objective()

I don't know about you, but I am REALLY excited about cf.Objective(). I only get to go to one conference a year, at cf.O() is it! I went last year, for the first time, and it was incredible. The sessions were fantastic, the networking was unparalleled, and the people there were so much fun to talk to and learn from.

I am anticipating that this year will be even better. Last year, I did not know anyone in the community. There were only one or two people there that I knew before the conference began, but that changed quickly. This year, it will be like getting back together with old friends.

This year I will be more involved with the conference, I have one presentation, and I will be "hosting" (if that is the right word) one Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) session along with Bill Shelton. I am really looking forward to both.

My presentation is titled "ColdFusion Application Security: The Next Step". The idea behind this presentation is that we have all heard about SQL Injection attacks, and Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), but not many people have been discussing some of the other, equally important, threats on our applications. So, if you want to learn more about how your applications may be vulnerable to hackers and script kiddies come and join me.

The BoF on Friday night will be centered around Application Security (what a surprise, right?). I will be "hosting" it along with Bill Shelton. As I understand it, the BoF sessions are really a group discussion between like-minded people with a common interest. I do not plan on having a formal presentation, but I will have some material prepared to help keep the conversation moving. We also plan to discuss the Application Security project that we have been working on. It should be a fun-filled hour (or more if they don't kick us out :). I plan on learning things at this one too.

Oh and I will have some giveaways at the BoF, courtesy of the 12robots.com blog (That's me).

I am really looking forward to meeting new people, geeking out, going to see Star Trek, and eating heartily. I can't wait to see everyone. And since I live in MN, I will wish you all a safe journey here, and please email me if you need anything (within reason).
