I'm speaking at the Twin Cities CFUG on Wednesday night

This Wednesday I will be speaking at the Twin Cities ColdFusion User Group meeting. I will be one of two speakers. Fred Anderson will be speaking as well.

I will be discussing "Converting Application.cfm to Application.cfc". I am a little nervous about it. This is my first public ColdFusion presentation, and there are going to be a lot of really smart and experienced people there. My presentation is based on a combination of experience and research, I am sure I will miss something important or get something just plain wrong.

My presentation is mostly directed at new ColdFusion developers and those who are still using Application.cfm. There are many, many good reasons to switch to Application.cfc.

The topics of the presentation are:

  • The differences between Application.cfm and Application.cfc
  • Problems with using Application.cfm
  • Application.cfc properties and methods
  • Converting an Application.cfm to Application.cfc example
  • When and how to use some of the methods(We won't have time for all)

So please, come if you can. You should RSVP on the main TCCFUG page if you want to participate in the pizza before hand.

Jason Dean's Gravatar @Pete - I'm giving you two days notice! That's plenty of time to get here from Australia. You're just not serious enough about learning about Application.cfc ;)

But yes, I will post the presentation sometime later this week. Thanks
